This material was recorded for its physical characteristics (thread count, spin direction), using a digital microscope and was part of several projects looking at gender and textiles production in the North Atlantic. This data served mostly as comparative material with other regions of the North Atlantic such as Iceland and came exclusively from burial contexts.
