HiCIPC (High-Resolution Chinese Climate Index Projection Dataset) provides extreme climate index projection products related to temperature and precipitation over China’s regional domain at a 10 km spatial resolution for the period 1979–2099. It is critical for assessing extreme weather events, advancing climate research, informing policy-making, and enhancing public awareness via meteorological analysis. The dataset offers climate indices (under continuous updates) calculated from the downscaled and bias-corrected outputs of 22 CMIP6 models for the period 1979–2099, covering four Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5, SSP3-7.0, and SSP5-8.5). It has a spatial resolution of 0.1° and an annual temporal resolution. The definitions and calculation methods of the climate indices follow the recommendations put forward by the CCl/CLIVAR/JCOMM Expert Team on Climate Change Detection and Indices (ETCCDI). HiCIPC is derived from the daily precipitation and air temperature data (including mean temperature, maximum temperature, and minimum temperature) provided by the High-Resolution Chinese CMIP6 Statistical Downscaling Climate Projection Dataset (HiCPC, https://data.tpdc.ac.cn/zh-hans/data/842a025c-9683-4509-8ab4-599b3a00ba56).
