The genome of 39 Listeria monocytogenes strains isolated in food waste from apartment buildings, canteens, restaurants, and food shops were analyzed. Most L. monocytogenes clonal complexes (CCs) belonged to strains commonly associated with food or environmental sources, with CC121 being the most common. Four strains, isolated from a canteen and two from apartment buildings belong to CC1 associated with hypervirulence.
