Impact craters posses the ability to biologically tune the microflora of the area affected. The knowledge of these microflora is very limited and most of the study concerns the lakes formed due to cratering. We report the first ever findings of the microbial diversity of the largest impact crater of India- The Dhala impact crater. Target zone of the study is the central elevated area which is a proof of complex impact cratering. The study prospects of finding novel species and tends to establish the groundbreaking approach of metageniomics as a flag bearer in the novel field of Geomicrobiology : the study of lithogical structure based on its microfloral biology.
