OpenAlex Medieval Musicology Dataset (2024–2026): CSV Data, Analysis Notebook, and Visualizations

This dataset accompanies the research project on medieval musicology through the open bibliographic infrastructure OpenAlex. It provides a reproducible analytical environment combining raw data, computational workflows, and visualizations used to study the evolution of the field between August 2024 and April 2026. ## Contents The repository includes: - Two CSV datasets extracted from the OpenAlex API: - `works-2024-08-17T08-11-19.csv` - `works-2026-04-29.csv` These files enable longitudinal comparison of the field of medieval musicology, including corpus growth, linguistic distribution, and metadata evolution. - A Jupyter notebook (`openalex.ipynb`) containing the full analysis pipeline: - data extraction and cleaning - semantic filtering - statistical analysis - visualization generation - A set of figures: - temporal evolution of publications - linguistic distribution - open access status - institutional collaboration networks ## Research Context The dataset was constructed using the OpenAlex API, targeting the concept "Musicology" (C41008148) and filtered with medieval-related keywords.
