This dataset provides a high-resolution Dynamic Atmospheric Correction (DAC-SIROCCO) for the Argentine Continental Shelf (ACS) during the SWOT 1-day Cal/Val phase. The correction is derived from the T-UGOm unstructured grid hydrodynamic model, forced by ECMWF-ERA5 atmospheric fields.
The dataset was developed to address the limitations of global DAC products in coastal and shelf environments characterized by macrotidal regimes and intense storm surges. It includes:
dac_swath: Gridded DAC values interpolated along the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) satellite pass 007 during its 1-day repeat Cal/Val phase. Station time series: Native 30-minute sampling DAC values at five key locations: Carina, Lander, Puerto Deseado, San Matías, and Vega Pléyade.
This product is detided and unfiltered, optimized for validating SWOT L3 Sea Surface Height (SSH) data and improving sea level estimates in the Southwestern Atlantic.
