The goal of this project is to perform complete sequencing of the genome of the stingless bee Melipona mondury, commonly known as the "bugia and/or urucu-amarela" bee, which is a native species of Brazil. The complete genome will provide valuable insights into the biology and evolution of this species and serve as a critical tool for its conservation and genetic improvement. To achieve this, the project will involve collecting DNA samples, performing high-quality sequencing, and assembling and analyzing the genome.
