Explicating alternative platform business models and testing their transferability

Data source: Interview and ethnographic observation data from alternatives to hegemonic models of platform corporations, as well as participatory research with alternative platform organizations. Primary data. Description: This dataset consists of factsheets and analytical memos derived from 17 interviews and observation sessions conducted under task 8.2 of the INCA project, supplemented by interview and observation data from participatory research with platforms carried out under task 8.3. Each factsheet captures organizational and economic details about the alternative organizations or platforms under study, and employs a codification system that preserves analytical value while ensuring the anonymity and safety of individuals. Interview factsheets are oriented around individual interviewees, while observation factsheets document specific observation instances. The dataset is in English. The dataset is pseudo-anonymised: personal and identifying details are anonymised by default unless participants have explicitly requested otherwise, while sufficient contextual information is retained to support rigorous analysis. Raw materials — including interview transcriptions and direct observation notes in their original national languages — will not be made public and will remain accessible only to work package collaborators. Public access to the dataset is restricted to protect pseudo-anonymised identities. Researchers wishing to access the data may do so by submitting a formal request to the designated contact person.
