资源简介:
In partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) studied endangered ocelots in South Texas. Ocelots were captured in box-traps, sedated, anesthetized, fit with a GPS collar, and released on following protocols in Sternberg and Swarts (2021). GPS collars were used to assess movements of ocelots in relation to the expansion of the Farm-to-Market (FM) 106 roadway and newly-installed wildlife underpasses around Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge in Texas. This was part of the dataset from the Refuge Project: “Monitoring Ocelot and Bobcat Use of Wildlife Underpasses”. This dataset includes 7,321 locations from 5 adult male ocelots whose locations intercepted the FM 106 study area and the Refuge from 2013-2020. Locations in this dataset only occur on the Refuge. These locations are stored using latitude and longitude with a WGS84 reference system. The data package associated with this is “OcelotGPS_TXDOT-FWS_onRefuge_2025 0505.xlsx”).
