The artist started his career in Bordeaux and subsequently moved to Paris to attend the School of fine arts. There he had the chance to meet and study with artists such as Jules Cavelier or Louis Barrias. His reputation grew thanks to multiple commissions. After that, he was commissioned for important monuments and statues not only in Paris, but also in Rouen, Marseille, Cognac and Louviers.
