The transcriptional response of prostate cells to Trichomonas vaginalis extracellular vehicles

The sexually transmitted parasite Trichomonas vaginalis secretes extracellular vesicles (TvEVs) that are internalized by human host cells. The goal of this experiment was to identify the effects of TvEV uptake on host cell gene expression. Overall design: To investigate the effects of TvEVs on host cell gene expression we treated prostate derived cells (BPH-1s) with TvEVs (50ug/mL) or mock treated for 6 hours prior to RNA isolation and sequencing.
