## **Abstract** \n\nThis dataset was created within the Bioregional Assessment Programme for cartographic purposes. Data has not been derived from any source datasets. Metadata has been compiled by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. The processes undertaken to produce this dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.\n\n\n\nThe dataset cartographic masks for use in cartographic outputs in the Gippsland Basin bioregion product 1.1.1.\n\n## **Purpose** \n\nCartographic masks for map products GIP 111, used for clear annotation and masking unwanted features from report maps.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nA shapefile was created for the use of masking data to highlight text.\n\n\n\nMethod:\n\n\n\n\\* A new polygon shapefile was created with no content\n\n\\* The shapefile was then populated in an ArcMap editing session by digitizing polygons which surround text.\n\n\\* ArcMAP's Advanced Drawing Option was then used to mask data behind text.\n\n## **Dataset Citation** \n\nBioregional Assessment Programme (2015) Cartographic masks for map products GIP 111. ## **数据集历史**

曾创建一个形状文件（shapefile）用于遮蔽数据以突出显示文本内容。

编制方法：

· 新建一个无内容的多边形形状文件

· 随后在ArcMap编辑会话中，通过数字化环绕文本的多边形来填充该形状文件

· 随后使用ArcMAP的高级绘图选项（Advanced Drawing Option）为文本后方的数据添加遮蔽效果。
