The upper and middle reaches of the Yellow River are a sensitive region to climate change and a key area for ecological conservation in China. Investigating the changes in extreme precipitation events in this region under the context of global warming is of great significance for ensuring regional ecological security and disaster prevention and mitigation. Based on the daily precipitation observation data from meteorological stations during 1961–2020, after data screening, quality inspection and outlier removal, this study selected and calculated 10 extreme precipitation indices, and statistically analyzed the Yellow River... by time periods and regional divisions.
