Dataset from the analyses of: i) biological activity of endophytic bacterium Priestia megaterium KW16 against Rhizoctonia solani, ii) effect of the pathogenic fungus filtrates on the expression of biocontrol-related genes, siderophore production and biofilm formation by KW16, iii) determination of the impact of KW16 on oilseed rape growth, fitness and protection against R. solani.

This dataset is related to the studies described in the article entitled "Novel Priestia megaterium KW16, a promising PGP and biocontrol agent against Rhizoctonia solani in oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) – practical approach and genetic potential" in the Agriculture journal (https://doi.org/10.3390/agriculture15131435). The data consist of the results collected for: i) studies on the antifungal activity of KW16 strain towards R. solani, ii) primer efficiency determination, iii) studies on the effect of the fungus phytopathogen filtrates on the expression levels of selected genes potentially involved in biocontrol activity of the KW16, iv) studies on the effect of KW16 inoculation on the oilseed rape plants ) growth and fitness parameters. The complete genome sequences of the Priestia megaterium KW16 strain have been deposited in the NCBI under the BioProject number JAHTKR000000000.1.
