The Scholars Got Something To Say: A South-Facing Dataset for Interdisciplinary Hip-Hop Research
收藏资源简介:
A bibliographic dataset of 5,826 works about hip-hop, facing South: it emphasizes Trap and Southern hip-hop while covering hip-hop scholarship across disciplines, regions and languages. Each work has its citation details, the searches that found it, the topic of those searches, and provisional tags (region, style, element of hip-hop, discipline and others). It was built for an informal scoping review loosely based on the PRISMA-ScR guideline, and includes the search protocol and a log of all 1,004 searches (SciSpace, Wiley Scholar Gateway, JSTOR, Google Scholar, Project MUSE and journal hand-searches). Files: dataset.csv and dataset.xlsx (the works), search_log.csv, protocol.csv, a SQLite database for browsing and keyword search, README and codebook. Browse and search the dataset online: https://rbomalaski.github.io/scholars-got-something-to-say Use of AI: prepared with the AI model Claude (Anthropic), which ran 557 of the searches, screened every record, assigned the tags, found links and missing details, and drafted the documentation. The author designed the protocol, ran the other searches, set the inclusion rules and made the recorded decisions. Citation details were checked by machine against Crossref, OpenAlex, DataCite and Open Library; the tags are AI-assigned and not yet verified. See the README before relying on any tag.
