Images and Site Reports from Archaeological Test Pitting at Fish Hoek and Waterside, Dartmouth, South Hams, Devon, February 2018

This collection comprises images and site records from archaeological test pitting at Fish Hoek and Waterside, Dartmouth, South Hams, Devon. This work was undertaken by South West Archaeology in February 2018. The test pitting identified three walls that reflected the presence of a possible cellared structure against a former waterfront wall. The structure is undated, although the presence of machine-made bricks within one of the walls would indicate that it was repaired in either the late 18th century or the early 19th century. It is recommended that any further archaeological works should focus on the area surrounding Fish Hoek in order to establish a more definitive date and function for the identified structure.
