This dataset contains physical measurements of specimens of the Southern Ocean diatom Fragilariopsis kerguelensis. We used the image segmentation software SHERPA (Kloster et al., 2017) to make physical measurements of each valve including \"rectangularity\". F. kerguelensis rectangularity has been posited to change in response to Sea Surface Temperature, a relationship that we explore in this study by calculating SSTs using established and new valve rectangularity/SST calibrations.
本数据集包含南大洋硅藻凯尔盖朗脆杆藻(Fragilariopsis kerguelensis)的标本物理测量数据。本研究借助图像分割软件SHERPA(Kloster等,2017)对每枚硅藻壳瓣开展物理测量,测量指标涵盖「矩形度(rectangularity)」。已有研究提出,凯尔盖朗脆杆藻的矩形度会随海表面温度(Sea Surface Temperature)发生改变;本研究通过采用已有的及新构建的壳瓣矩形度-海表面温度校准模型计算海表面温度(SST),以此探究二者间的关联。
