Soil salinization is becoming a limitation to utilization of ornamental plants all over the world. Crossostephium chinensis (Linnaeus) Makino, as one of the relative species of Chrysanthemum, is often cultivated for ornamental purposes for the special leaf characteristics with white dense flosses as well as the high salt tolerant ability. Nowadays, no transcriptome information concerning the salt-responsive of C. chinensis has been reported. The transcriptome of C. chinensis seedlings with or without salt treatment were sequenced using Illumina paired-end sequencing technology.
