POLLEN ANALYSIS OF SEDIMENT AND GROUNDSTONE FROM SITE CA-SBA-1823, VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, CALIFORNIA

Pollen analysis was conducted on six samples from a prehistoric Chumash site (CA-SBA- 1823) in the western Santa Ynez Mountains. A cache of lithic tools that included groundstone was ·recovered. Pollen analysis of washes of two manos was compared with samples from the sediment within the rock cache, sediment outside the rock cache, and two modern control samples.对圣伊内斯山脉（Santa Ynez Mountains）西部一处史前丘马什（Chumash）遗址（CA-SBA-1823）的6份样品开展了孢粉分析（Pollen analysis）。本次发掘出土了一处包含磨制石器（groundstone）在内的石质工具窖藏。本研究对两件手磨石（manos）冲洗样品的孢粉分析结果，与该石质窖藏内部沉积物、窖藏外部沉积物以及2份现代对照样品的分析结果进行了对比。
