Preferred meat cuts in Japan 2023

Boneless short rib was the most popular cut of meat among Japanese consumers, as revealed in a survey conducted in September 2023. Around half of the respondents named boneless short rib, known as karubi in Japan, a meat cut they liked.Karubi is a popular choice for grilled meat (yakiniku), served as thin, marinated slices.
