To further explore the signaling mechanisms underlying breast CSCs maintenance in breast tissues, we employed microarray analysis, to compare the 3 observed mammosphere formation groups: M0, M1, and M2, identified by in vitro cultivation of breast biopsy tissue samples. Overall design: Gene expression in breast tissue samples was evaluated in relation to mammosphere formation in vitro, from matching fresh biopsies.
