Whole genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing of Drosophila sechellia. Drosophila sechellia

The Drosophila sechellia genome was sequended to 5-fold coverage by the Broad Institute. The Drosophila sechellia WGS project has the project accession AAKO00000000. This version of the project (01) has the accession number AAKO01000000, and consists of sequences AAKO01000001-AAKO01021425. The D. sechellia genome was assembled using the ARACHNE4.5 assembler. The assembly was annotated using several automated gene prediction programs, and the results were combined into a consensus GLEAN set (Drosophila 12 Genomes Consortium 2007). The assembly and annotation can be viewed in the FlyBase Genome Browser.
