A digitized dataset of legacy geophysical logs from deep boreholes within the "Alto Tiberina Near Fault Observatory Area - TABOO" (Central Italy)
收藏资源简介:
NFO_TABOO_well_logs_v.2.0.zip is a revised release of the borehole log dataset previously distributed as NFO_TABOO_well_logs_v.1.1.zip. The use of v.2.0 is strongly recommended, as it provides a more accurate representation of the geophysical log dataset included in v.1.1. The dataset includes geophysical logs digitized from seven deep boreholes (MONTE_CIVITELLO_001, PERUGIA_001, PERUGIA_002, PIEVE S.STEFANO_001, S.DONATO_001, BURANO_001, PRATOMAGNO_001), collected in Central Italy for commercial exploration during the '80s. These wells have been specifically selected within the "Alto Tiberina Near Fault Observatory area (NFO TABOO)". The source data are currently available in the Italian repository VIDEPI (videpi.com) in PDF format, scanned from the original paper copies, and include stratigraphic information, geophysical well logs and other ancillary information. Such a format often makes the data difficult to find and access, as well as making them not interoperable and reusable, as recommended by FAIR policy. This policy characterizes the EPOS infrastructure (https://www.epos-eu.org/dataportal), funder of this digitalization pilot project accomplished by UniPG, in collaboration with ISPRA, as part of the activities carried out in the framework of EPOS-JRU Italy, to make deep borehole data publicly available in a digital version. The new digitized data will enable users to reuse them to allow quantitative analyses and improve interpretability, as well as to better integrate them into the geological and geophysical studies related to the NFO TABOO (https://taboo.ingv.it/). The main revisions are: • All log data have been resampled to 0.1524 m sampling interval. • Minor depth misalignments and data gaps have been corrected. • Resistivity log ranges have been corrected. In v.1.1, they were shifted because slight horizontal offsets were amplified by the logarithmic scale. • Resistivity log interval from 3887 to 4720 m in the PIEVE_SSTEFANO_001 borehole has been corrected. The dataset now properly reflects a change in recording scale that was missing in v.1.1. • Interval 242-1278 m in the PIEVE_SSTEFANO_001 borehole was wrongly digitized as gamma ray, now corrected and reported as Spontaneous Potential. • Resistivity logs of BURANO_001 and PERUGIA_001 Wells now include additional amplified ("AMP") resistivity logs. • Wells' formations tops file added.
