Ecological survey of the birds, algae, lichen, fungi, and invertebrates on ice free areas of the Edward VII Peninsula, Marie Byrd Land

A 5-6 week remote field expedition was carried out to visit all rock outcrops in the Edward VII Peninsula, Marie Byrd Land to make a general biological survey of the region and assemble good plant collections (mosses/lichens/algae) for taxonomic study. All the peaks and scarps in the Rockerfeller and Alexandra Mountains were surveyed for the plant and bird communities there. Algae, liches, bryophytes and the invertebrate fauna were observed, described and collected for investigation. Bird sighting were recorded throughout the trip.
