Breast milk microbiota assessment in a group of healthy lactating women

This study aimed at the assessment of the breast milk microbiota in a group of healthy lactating women as well as determine its impact on dietary and nutritional status during gestation and the first trimester of lactation. A study was conducted from 30 healthy lactating women in Colombia. Microbiota analysis was conducted by amplifying and sequencing the V3-V4 hypervariable regions of the 16S rRNA bacterial gene.
