资源简介:
The Japanese sawshark (Pristiophorus japonicus) is a species of sawshark in the family Pristiophoridae. This shark has a long, narrow rostrum. Its first dorsal fin originates behind the tips of the pectoral fins, and its caudal fin is angled almost straight in line with the body. It is found in the northwest Pacific Ocean around Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and northern China over the sandy or muddy bottoms of the continental shelf at depths of 50 to 800 m (160 to 2,620 ft) (from Wikipedia entry). This sample of a male individual born at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in Okinawa, Japan, was collected by Taketeru Tomita and coordinated by Gavin Naylor and Adrian Lee to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Keiichi Sato of the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium facilitated collection of the tissues. Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genome Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Erich D. Jarvis, Giulio Formenti, and Jennifer Balacco.
