This strain grows well at 37°C on CM0006 medium and is aerobic. It can be used for research, teaching and analytical detection. It can be preserved via -80°C freezer cryopreservation or vacuum freeze-drying. It is a Gram-positive facultatively anaerobic short bacillus. Colonies are approximately 1 mm in diameter, glossy, domed and opaque; no spores are produced, and catalase is negative. It can ferment amygdalin, arabinose, cellobiose, esculin, fructose, galactose, glucose, gluconate, lactose, maltose, mannitol, mannose, melezitose, rhamnose, ribose, salicin, sorbitol, sucrose and trehalose, but cannot ferment melibiose, raffinose and xylose. It produces NH3 from arginine, does not produce indole and H2S, with negative hydrogen sulfide test, negative benzidine reaction and negative nitrate reduction. The guanine (G) + cytosine (C) content is 45%. It is used for grain vinegar brewing.
