Common ways to place stock orders among retail investors in Japan 2023

According to a survey conducted in 2023, around 56.4 percent of private investors in Japan placed their buy and sell orders for stocks online using computers or tablets. While 23.1 percent placed their orders via mobile apps, 14 percent preferred to buy and sell shares over the counter at securities companies or banks.
