SMART CONTRACTS AND DISTRIBUTED LEDGER TECHNOLOGY IN CYBERSPACE CONTENT DISTRIBUTION: LEGAL NATURE AND INTEGRATION INTO THE CIVIL CODE

The article analyses the legal nature of smart contracts and distributed ledger technology (DLT) applied to cyberspace content distribution. Drawing upon the Russian «digital rights» concept (Article 141.1 of the RF Civil Code), the Belarusian High Technology Park regime and the EU MiCA Regulation, the article identifies smart contracts as a hybrid instrument combining contractual obligations with self-executing technological infrastructure. A draft provision for the Civil Code of Uzbekistan is proposed, treating the smart contract not as a substitute for the underlying licence contract but as its executional layer.
