In this study we aim to describe the resistome using a functional metagenomic method within infants with CF in the first year of life.Samples were selected from a collection of nasal swabs taken bi-weekly from patients with CF during their first year of life. For the functional detection of AB resistance genes, DNA fragments were cloned and transformed into E. coli. Resistant clones were recovered by culturing against different classes of antibiotics and the genes conferring resistance were identified by Nanopore sequencing (MinION).
