Quarterly ATM cash withdrawal number with card from same bank Netherlands 2005-2021

In early 2021, approximately 6.4 million ATM cash withdrawals were made in the Netherlands at a terminal of the bank issuing the respective debit card. This is a decrease from earlier years, possibly an indicator that cash money becomes less important in Dutch payments but also likely to an effect from the coronavirus pandemic. Cash money made up less than half of all payments at shops, restaurants, petrol stations and street merchants in the Netherlands, making it one of Europe's least likely countries where cash is used at points of sale.
