Turning Coal Waste into Sustainable Cementitious Binder In Malaysia, coal-fired thermal power plants generate coal combustion by-products, especially coal bottom ash (CBA) waste, while the cement industry releases significant carbon dioxide. My PhD research explores using CBA to create a new type of eco-friendly cementitious binder. Through rigorous testing, I aim to meet industry standards and turn waste into valuable construction materials. This innovation supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals 12 and 13, promoting a sustainable future and net zero carbon emissions.
