资源简介:
We sought to improve and standardize atopic dermatitis (AD) care by pediatric providers with a multimodal intervention comprising education and electronic health record (EHR)-integrated tools that assist with prescription writing and generating customized care plans. A topical medication volume calculator (TMVC), AD order set, and after-visit summary were developed and integrated in the EHR. Examples are included in this supplement. The AD order set allows prescription orders and patient instructions to be selected with 1 click. The after-visit summary includes instructions on volumes of topical medications to be used over a several-week period based on patient age and body surface area involvement as recommended by the TMVC. An online survey was utilized to assess the interventions’ impact on pediatric providers’ knowledge and management of AD. Overall, this multimodal intervention was a successful collaboration between pediatric dermatologists and pediatricians, with demonstration of changes in care delivery for children with AD in the primary care setting.
