资源简介:
Panji Wulung is a Sundanese literary narrative composed in the traditional wawacan poetic form, and it stands as the most renowned work by Muhammad Musa. This literary piece was written in 1862 and later published in 1871 by the Landsdrukkerij. The story centers around Panji Wulung, a character who gains remarkable power and expertise through dedicated learning and disciplined training, enabling him to overcome various trials. Although the tale is not directly linked to the Javanese Panji literary tradition, the use of the name "Panji" may have been inspired by the moral values and heroic qualities associated with Panji figures in Javanese culture.
The Panji Tale is a classic work of Javanese literature that developed during the Majapahit period. It became very popular in the lives of people across the Nusantara (Indonesian archipelago) and Southeast Asia from ancient times until today. This is evident from the numerous variants of the Panji Tale that have been documented, both in the form of ancient manuscripts and oral traditions that have spread as far as Southeast Asia. In the life of Nusantara society, the presence of the Panji Tale holds a very special place. Unlike many kakawin (epic poems) influenced by Indian epics, the Panji Tale is an original story that originated in Java. It tells of Javanese knights with settings in Javanese kingdoms, not Indian ones. The Panji Tale, with its many variants, typically takes place in East Javanese kingdoms during the period of around the 10th to 16th centuries. Due to its popularity, Panji stories have been found in various forms across regions and cultures up to the present day. They appear in performances, written texts, temple reliefs, oral traditions, and even digital media.
