A metagenomic study of the effects of fire treatment on biocrust microbiomes and their nutrient cycling potential

Biocrusts play an important role in importing nitrogen into rangelands. The extent to which they are influenced by rangelands management is poorly understood. Here we used high throughput sequencing to characterise the impacts of rangelands fire management on the diversity and composition of bacterial communities in biocrusts, and their ecosystem services.
