Methane emissions of selected major meat and dairy companies worldwide 2022

The methane emissions of JBS, the world's largest meat producer, were estimated at 4.5 million metric tons in 2022. Combined, these 15 big meat and dairy companies' methane emissions were estimated at roughly 16 million metric tons in 2023. Methane is a significant contributor to global warming and 80 times more potent than carbon dioxide over the first two decades after its release.
