Economic and security analysis of the protection of drug trafficking routes

This paper examines the relationship between community protection of drug trafficking routes, the rural economy, and public security in Guatemala. Its purpose is to explain how surveillance, protection, transportation, and logistical support tasks alter employment, local markets, territorial control, and state legitimacy. The study used a qualitative, documentary, and explanatory design based on a review of academic studies, institutional reports, national regulations, and specialized reports on drug trafficking, illicit routes, and rural economies.本研究考察危地马拉境内社区对贩毒路线的保护行为、农村经济与公共安全三者间的关联。本研究旨在阐明监视、保护、运输及后勤支援类任务如何改变就业状况、本地市场格局、领土管控状态与国家合法性。本研究采用质性研究、文献研究与解释性研究设计，基于对贩毒活动、非法贩运路线及农村经济相关学术研究、机构报告、国家法规与专项研究报告的系统性梳理与分析。
