Manatee

This time series shows us the location of manatees throughout Broward County waters from week to week during the 2008-2021 period. The points represent the approximate location of one or more manatees seen from aerial surveys on a given survey day, while the time series helps in showing the general movements of manatees throughout Broward County waters over the course of the season. This data is not a total population count of manatees in Broward County as the surveys require visual sighting of the manatees, and manatees that are too deep or in murky water may not be counted as a result. Moreover, the points are not linked to individual manatees, therefore the time series does not provide tracking of individual animals either.
