<b>Dataset comparing the effectiveness of perineal cold pack application over oral 1000mg paracetamol intake in perineal pain relief among postnatal women after spontaneous vaginal delivery in Dodoma region.</b>

Vaginal delivery is the common and safest standard model of childbirth worldwide<b>. </b>However, it is associated with perineal trauma, which limits the woman’s mobility, quality of life, and ability to care for her baby comfortably. The study aimed to test the effectiveness of perineal cold pack application on postpartum perineal pain and timely breastfeeding initiation among post-delivery mothers after Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery (SVD). This randomized control clinical trial recruited 228 post-partum mothers (114 participants in the intervention group and 114 in the control group). The participants were randomly allocated to either an intervention or control group. The intervention group received the cold pack, while the control group received the Paracetamol 500mg. Data were collected using a standardized questionnaire and then analyzed using Stata™ software (StataCorp LLC, College Station, TX, US) version 14. The estimate of the effect of the intervention was measured using an analysis of variance. Omega square test was used to establish the effect size.A cold pack reduces perineal pain intensity following soft tissue injury after spontaneous vaginal delivery. It is practical and can be promoted to be employed in our health facility because it is cheap and available, also feeling the gap of stock and out-of-pocket to the women.阴道分娩是全球范围内最常用且最安全的标准分娩方式。但该分娩方式可能引发会阴创伤，进而限制产妇的活动能力、生活质量以及舒适照料婴儿的能力。本研究旨在探究经自发性阴道分娩（Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery, SVD）产妇应用会阴冷敷对产后会阴疼痛以及及时启动母乳喂养的效果。本随机对照临床试验共招募228名产后产妇，干预组与对照组各114名受试者，受试者被随机分配至干预组或对照组。干预组受试者接受冷敷干预，对照组则给予500mg对乙酰氨基酚。研究采用标准化问卷收集数据，并使用美国德克萨斯州大学站市StataCorp公司开发的Stata™ 14版软件进行数据分析。干预效应的评估采用方差分析，效应大小则通过欧米伽平方检验进行计算。冷敷可降低自发性阴道分娩后软组织损伤所致的会阴疼痛程度。该干预方式实用性强，且因成本低廉、易于获取，能够填补医疗物资库存缺口并减轻产妇自费负担，因此可在本医疗机构推广应用。
