Provincial-Level Panel Data on Agricultural Diversification and Climate Disasters in Indonesia (2016–2022)

This dataset contains provincial-level panel data on agricultural sector diversification and climate-related shocks across 34 Indonesian provinces from 2016 to 2022. The diversification index is calculated using the Modified Entropy Index (MEI) based on the contribution of five agricultural subsectors to the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). Climate shock data include the annual frequency of all recorded disaster events, as reported by Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). These events cover a broad range of hazards, including but not limited to floods, droughts, landslides, earthquakes, and extreme weather. The dataset also incorporates key institutional and infrastructural variables, including rehabilitated irrigation infrastructure (in hectares), agricultural credit disbursement (in million Rupiah), and agricultural export value (in million US dollars). This dataset supports empirical analysis of structural change and resilience in the agricultural sector under climate stress. It is used in the article titled “Climate Shock and Agricultural Sector Diversification: Spatial Disparities Across Indonesian Islands.”
