RNA-seq of biopsies, crypts and organoids of inflamed and non-inflamed biopsies of ulcerative colitis patients

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is an inflammatory bowel disorder characterized by chronic inflammation of the colon and rectum. Patient derived organoids provide an excellent tool to unravel the multifactorial character behind UC. However, it remains unclear if organoids preserve the inflammatory character of their origin. To investigate this, patient derived biopsies, isolated crypts and thereof derived organoids, both from inflamed and non-inflamed regions in UC patients were collected and analyzed by RNA sequencing.
