In this study, we investigated the impact of feeding mode (suckling versus artificial feeding) on early intestinal microbial colonization of three-day old lambs using 16S rRNA sequencing and real time PCR methods. We explored the microbial sources and the corresponding proportions of the early gut microbiota by source under the two feeding modes.
