Thyroid Hormone Action Controls Multiple Components of Cell Junctions at the Ventricular Zone in the Newborn Rat Brain

We investigated if developmental hypothyroidism controlled cell signaling in the ventricular zone of the rat brain on postnatal day 2. We performed laser capture microdissection to isolate the ventricular zone in euthyroid (control) and hypothyroid rats. Hypothyroidism was induced by a maternal exposure to the goitrogen propylthiourail (PTU) during pregnancy and lactation.
