This dataset was created to support research on process monitoring in laser-based powder bed fusion of plastics (PBF-LB/P) using infrared thermography. Its purpose is to identify characteristic thermal features that can serve as control values for closed-loop feedback, enabling reproducible part properties. The methodology does not rely on deriving absolute temperatures from the IR camera but instead uses relative changes in the thermal signal, which are sufficient to capture process behavior and correlate it with part quality. Detailed documentation of the experimental setup, parameter matrix, etc. can be found in associated data publication. This dataset provides raw infrared thermography data across all energy input levels (1.18–0.60 J/mm³) and sample geometries (1–20 mm width), together with analyzed values of characteristic thermal signal features such as the peak of the thermal signal and the decay time when reaching -1 K/s. Corresponding part properties include dimensional deviations, Archimedean and volumetric density, and single-layer melt depth.
