A common chronic inflammatory infection occurred on the skin of Trachidermus fasciatus - skin ulcers, is one of the main causes leading to the declined fish production. We seek to characterize and compare the cutaneous microbiota of skin-ulcering lesions (lesion group), unaffected skin from sick fish (nonlesion group), and similar skin loci in matched healthy controls (normal group) in order to clarify the patterns that govern skin colonization and their relationship to targeted diagnosis.
