This dataset contains the completed afforestation area data of key forestry projects in China from 1979 to 2007, sourced from the appendix tables of the 2008 China Forestry Development Report. It covers the afforestation areas of the following projects during this period: Natural Forest Protection Project, Grain for Green Project, afforestation on converted cropland, Beijing-Tianjin Sandstorm Source Control Project, key shelterbelt system construction projects including the Three-North Region and Yangtze River Basin, Three-North Shelterbelt System Construction Project, Upper and Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River Shelterbelt System Construction Project, Coastal Shelterbelt System Construction Project, Pearl River Basin Shelterbelt System Construction Project, Taihang Mountain Afforestation Project, Plain Afforestation Project, and Fast-growing and High-yield Timber Forest Base Construction Project.
