ATR-FTIR Spectra of Crude Extracts and Solid Biomass of Pelagic Sargassum in Different Decomposition Stages

Here are the CSV files containing ATR-FTIR spectra of Pelagic Sargassum species. These spectra come from the freeze-dried Solid biomass (SB) of Sargassum and their aqueous crude extracts (CE). Also, the standard folder contains the reference spectra for ammonium sulfate, calcite, sodium acetate, mannitol, sodium sulfate, and sodium phosphate, which were downloaded in JDX file format from the NIST Chemistry WebBook. The spectra of alginate and citrate were obtained from food-grade alginate from Demain, S.A. de C.V. (Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico) and food-grade trisodium citrate dihydrate from Diquitra, S.A. de C.V. (Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico, Mexico). The FTIR analyses were performed using an ATR-FTIR spectrometer, Nicolet iS5 from Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (Waltham, MA, USA), equipped with an iD7 accessory on a ZnSe crystal plate, utilizing Thermo Scientific OMNIC™ software. The data-acquisition parameters included background noise removal, a spectral range of 500-4000 cm−1, 32 scans per sample, and a spectral resolution of 4 cm−1, corresponding to a data spacing of 0.482 cm−1. Each CE and Solid biomass sample was read three times. These spectra were acquired in the facilities of the National Laboratory of Nano Biomaterials (LANNBIO) of CINVESTAV Unidad Mérida as part of project FOMIX-Yucatán 2008-108160, CONACYT LAB-2009-01-123913, 292692, 294643, and 299083.
