A Specialized Lexicon of Himyarite Royal–Religious Vocabulary

This reference work assembles the royal, divine, cultic, and religion-transition vocabulary of the Ancient South Arabian (chiefly Sabaic) epigraphic record, with particular attention to the kingdom of Ḥimyar. Version 2.1 expands the curated core of the draft edition from 70 to 165 entries and adds a dictionary apparatus and a corpus-statistics layer. The expansion tranche of 95 entries was promoted from a machine-extracted finding aid under a dual-language verification rule: a candidate entered the lexicon only where the English gloss and its French counterpart, printed side by side in Beeston–Ghul–Müller–Ryckmans (1982), both survive legibly and agree in sense. Tranche entries carry an explicit two-grade status one confidence class below the hand-verified core; re-verification against the printed dictionary is scheduled. New in 2.1: every entry is joined to the author's research corpus of 6,619 inscriptions (23,884 distinct forms). Matched entries carry corpus frequency, text count, dialect profile across six corpus divisions, dated century distribution, concentration ratio, corpus attestations by siglum, and a DASI DOI link; corpus attestations supersede the tranche's earlier auto-detected sigla. Two source layers are combined but never blurred: glosses, roots, and dictionary sigla derive from BGMR 1982; all quantitative data derive from the corpus. The apparatus comprises an English-to-Sabaic reverse index, a root index, and the diachronic table quantifying the emergence of Raḥmānān against the decline of the older pantheon.
