Dataset for AI-based automated monitoring of the invasive pearl oyster (Pinctada radiata) in the Aegean Sea using underwater surveys

This dataset supports the study “AI-based automated monitoring of the invasive pearl oyster (Pinctada radiata) in the Aegean Sea using underwater surveys”. It contains underwater imagery and video-derived material used to develop and evaluate a proof-of-concept AI-based framework for automated monitoring of the invasive pearl oyster *Pinctada radiata* in the South Evoikos Gulf, Greece. The framework combines YOLO object detection with ByteTrack multi-object tracking to estimate oyster abundance from in situ underwater videos. It also includes an image-based morphometric workflow for estimating oyster size and weight proxies using a reference calibration object.
