Jahanshah Qaraqoyunlu Manuscript Witness Census

This dataset records manuscript witnesses for the Dīvān tradition of Jahanshah Qaraqoyunlu (d. 872 AH / 1467 CE; pen name Ḥaqīqī / Hakîkî) and the search strategies employed to find these manuscript witnesses. This serves as a case study in using an LLM-assisted search workflow for building such a census across inconsistent multilingual catalogues, printed references, private and community archives, poorly documented witnesses, and lost or unlocated reports. The census records 7 verified and 2 caveated Jahanshah witnesses: 5 on the TEIS Yesevi roster, 1 institutional fragment, and 3 Alevi shrine witnesses in the Ocak tradition (1 Anatolian (Diyarbakır Ulutürk) and 2 Iranian Azerbaijani (Ilkhchi Kırklar Ocağı)). It also records 1 dubious candidate and 1 lost witness (Diyarbakır YE per Cunbur 1999). (Paper to come)
